Clinical trial alerts for the questions you follow
Save a question or a filtered search and get an email when a new trial is registered or a new study is published that matches it. Every alert lists the new records with their NCT numbers or PMIDs, so you can open them straight away.
What clinical trial alerts do
Evidence moves every week. Trials are registered, change status, post results or stop early, and new papers appear in the literature. Checking registries by hand for each indication you follow takes hours. Alerts do that checking for you against the same index that powers every answer.
- Alerts on any saved question or filtered search
- An email when new matching trials or publications appear
- Each new record listed with its identifier, title, phase, sponsor and status
- One click from the email to the registry record or abstract
- Status changes and newly posted results on trials you already follow
- Alerts that respect your filters for condition, intervention, phase, status, study type, date range, sponsor type, country and results available
How alerts work
-
1. Save a question
Ask a question or set up a search in the clinical trial table, then save it as an alert. The filters you used are saved with it.
-
2. The index refreshes daily
Every day the index takes in new registrations, status changes and posted results from ClinicalTrials.gov, the EU Clinical Trials Register and the WHO ICTRP where the licence allows, and newly indexed publications from PubMed and PubMed Central.
-
3. New matches are checked
After each refresh, ClinicalEvidence runs your saved alerts against the new and changed records. Only records that match the question and its filters count as new.
-
4. You get one email
When there are new matches, you receive an email listing them with their identifiers and links. When nothing new matches, no email is sent. Open the alert in your workspace to ask a follow up question about the new records with cited AI answers.
Writing alerts that stay useful
A good alert is specific enough to stay quiet on unrelated news and broad enough to catch what matters. A few habits help.
- Name the condition and the intervention or class, not only one of them
- Set the phase and status filters you care about, for example phase 2 and phase 3 trials that are recruiting
- Add a country filter when you follow site activity in specific markets
- Use the results available filter to hear only about trials that have posted results
- Keep one alert per question, so each email answers one thing
If an alert sends too much, narrow its filters. If it stays silent for months, check the question in the trial table to see whether the landscape is simply quiet.
Who relies on trial alerts
- Clinical development and competitive intelligence teams watching new registrations and status changes in their indication.
- CRO feasibility teams following enrolment and site activity in the countries they serve.
- Medical affairs teams tracking newly posted results for a product class, see medical information evidence.
- Researchers keeping a scoping search current while a systematic review is under way.
- Physicians following new trials in their specialty.
Alerts on Research Team, Organization and Enterprise live in shared workspaces, so a whole team can follow the same questions.
