Terms of service
These terms govern your use of ClinicalEvidence, a professional service for searching registered trials and published studies with cited answers. By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms. Last updated 2026-10-20.
Who provides the service
ClinicalEvidence is operated by the administrator of the clinicalevidence.ai service ("we", "us"). "You" means the person who creates an account and, where you act for an organization, that organization. Contact us at [email protected].
Eligibility
ClinicalEvidence is a business service for professionals in healthcare, life sciences, research and consulting. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. If you accept these terms on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to bind it.
Accounts
You create an account with your email address and a password and confirm it with a code sent to that address. You keep your credentials confidential, you are responsible for activity in your account, and you tell us promptly at [email protected] about any unauthorized use. Team plans let an account owner invite members, assign roles and remove access; the account owner is responsible for the seats in the workspace.
Subscriptions and billing
- ClinicalEvidence is sold as a subscription, billed monthly or yearly in advance, at the prices shown on the pricing page when you subscribe
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you turn off renewal
- Moving to a higher plan, or from monthly to yearly billing, takes effect immediately and you are charged the difference immediately; the change applies once that payment succeeds
- Moving to a lower plan takes effect at the start of your next billing period
- You can turn off renewal at any time in your account; your plan stays active until the end of the period already paid for
- Payments are final, except as described in our refund policy
- Prices may change for future billing periods; we tell you by email before a change applies to your renewal
- The one-time demo on the homepage is the only use of the service without a subscription
Fair use and plan limits
Each plan includes a monthly and a daily number of cited answers, seats, alerts, trial table rows and export formats, as listed on the pricing page. Usage is counted as consumption within the billing period: an evidence summary or an intervention comparison counts as 5 cited answers, and deleting a thread, comment or export does not restore any allowance. Allowances reset at the start of each billing period and unused allowance does not carry over. We may limit automated or abnormal use that threatens the stability of the service for other customers.
Acceptable use
You must not:
- Enter patient identifiable information or any other personal health information about an identifiable person
- Use ClinicalEvidence as a medical device, or to make diagnosis or treatment decisions for an individual patient without independent professional judgment
- Scrape, crawl or extract the service or its index by automated means, other than through the exports included in your plan
- Resell, sublicense or provide the service to third parties, or share one seat between several people
- Attempt to bypass plan limits, security measures or access controls, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without telling us
- Use the service in breach of law or of the rights of others
Professional use and no medical advice
ClinicalEvidence is a research tool for professionals. It does not give medical advice and does not create a doctor patient relationship. Answers support, and never replace, clinical judgment, clinical guidelines and approved product labelling. Read the medical disclaimer.
Accuracy limits
Answers are built only from passages retrieved from our index, and every cited sentence passes an automatic check that the NCT number or PMID exists in the index and that the passage supports the sentence. Summaries can still contain errors or omit relevant context. You are responsible for reading the cited sources before you rely on, quote or act on an answer.
Third party registry and literature data
Records from ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed, PubMed Central, the EU Clinical Trials Register, the WHO ICTRP and other sources remain subject to the terms and licences of their providers, and you agree to respect them when you reuse records or exports. Registry data reflects what sponsors and investigators report. ClinicalEvidence is not affiliated with or endorsed by these providers.
Intellectual property
We own the service, its software, design and the ClinicalEvidence name. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service during your subscription. You own your questions and workspace content and you may use answers and exports in your professional work, subject to the rights of the original sources.
Confidentiality of workspace content
We treat your questions, threads, comments and exports as confidential. We use them only to provide the service to you, as described in our privacy policy, and we do not use them to train public models. Information about our security measures is on the security page.
Availability
We work to keep ClinicalEvidence available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Enterprise includes priority support with a named contact. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where possible.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is", and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, loss of profits or data, or for decisions made on the basis of answers. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
You can stop using the service and turn off renewal at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, in particular the acceptable use rules, or if required by law. After termination we delete account data as described in the privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. We notify account holders by email about material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
