Cited AI answers where every sentence has a source

Ask a clinical question in plain English and get an answer in which every sentence carries the NCT number or PMID it comes from. Each citation is verified before you see it, and when the evidence is not there, the answer says so.

What cited AI answers do

A cited answer is a short, readable synthesis of what registered trials and published studies say about your question. Unlike a general chatbot, ClinicalEvidence does not write from memory. It retrieves passages from an index of ClinicalTrials.gov, PubMed, the open access subset of PubMed Central, the EU Clinical Trials Register and the WHO ICTRP, then writes only from those passages.

  • One or more NCT numbers or PMIDs on every sentence
  • One click opens the registry record or the abstract
  • The level of evidence is shown for each cited source
  • A sources searched panel lists exactly where the answer looked
  • A plain "no evidence found" statement when the index holds nothing relevant

The result is an answer you can quote in a slide deck, a medical information reply or a protocol discussion, because a reviewer can open every source behind it.

How citation verification works

Every answer goes through the same steps before it reaches your screen.

  1. 1. Retrieval from the index

Semantic search and full text search run together over the daily refreshed index, narrowed by your filters for condition, intervention, phase, status, study type, date range, sponsor type, country and results available.

  2. 2. Writing from retrieved passages only

The language model receives your question and the retrieved passages. Each sentence it writes must be built from a passage and carry that passage's identifier.

  3. 3. Automatic verification

A separate check reads the answer sentence by sentence. Each cited identifier must exist in the index, and the cited passage must support the sentence. Sentences that fail are removed. An answer with no verified source is not shown at all.

  4. 4. You decide

You read the answer, open the sources and judge the studies yourself. The full pipeline is described on how AI clinical evidence search works.

No verified source means no answer

Some questions have no trial or publication behind them. ClinicalEvidence never fills that gap with a plausible paragraph. You get a clear statement that no verified evidence answers the question, plus the closest matching studies when there are any. For a feasibility lead or a researcher scoping a review, knowing that the evidence is thin is a useful result in itself.

Who uses cited answers

  • Physicians and clinical pharmacists checking what trials show for a treatment question, with sources they can open. See AI for doctors.
  • Medical affairs teams answering medical information requests with references a reviewer accepts.
  • Clinical development and CRO feasibility leads getting a quick read on a mechanism or an endpoint before they open the full clinical trial table.
  • Academic researchers and HEOR consultants scoping the evidence before a systematic review or a payer dossier.

Cited answers are evidence support for professionals. They are not medical advice and not a diagnostic tool.

Cited answers in every plan

Every plan includes cited answers, citation verification, the sources searched panel and the level of evidence per source. Plans differ by volume and team features.

One question is one cited answer. An evidence summary or an intervention comparison counts as 5 cited answers. Prices start at 49 USD per month, or 24 USD per month billed yearly. Save 50% with yearly billing on every plan, as shown on the pricing page.

Questions about cited AI answers

Can a cited answer include a study that does not exist?

No. Every identifier is checked against the index before the answer is shown. An NCT number or PMID that is not in the index is removed together with its sentence.

What if the cited passage does not really support the sentence?

Verification checks that the cited passage supports the claim. A sentence that cannot be traced to a supporting passage is removed, and an answer with no verified source is not shown.

Can I use cited answers for patient care decisions?

Cited answers summarize what trials and studies report, for professional use. They are not medical advice. Open the sources and apply your own clinical judgement.
