Refund policy

Payments for ClinicalEvidence subscriptions are final. This page explains the few exceptions, what cancellation does and how to ask us to review a charge. Last updated 2026-10-20.

Payments are final

When you subscribe, you pay in advance for a monthly or yearly billing period and get immediate access to your plan. Because the service is delivered from the moment you pay, payments are not refunded, including for unused cited answers, unused seats or a period you decided not to use. Before you subscribe, the one-time demo on the homepage shows a real cited answer, and the pricing page lists every plan limit.

The only exceptions

We review a charge, and return the affected amount when the case is confirmed, only in these situations.

  • Duplicate charge, when you were charged twice for the same subscription and the same billing period
  • Proven unauthorized charge, when a payment was made without the authorization of the account holder or card holder
  • Complete service failure, when ClinicalEvidence was entirely unavailable to you for a substantial part of the billing period because of a fault on our side

What cancellation does

You can turn off renewal at any time in your account. Cancelling stops all future renewals and charges. It does not refund the current billing period, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Moving to a lower plan takes effect at the start of the next period and does not create a refund for the current one.

Consumers in the European Union

ClinicalEvidence is a business service for professionals. If you nevertheless subscribe as a consumer in the European Union, you have a statutory 14 day right of withdrawal from a distance contract. That right ends once the service has been fully performed, and at checkout you request that the service starts immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once it is fully performed. Because a subscription gives you access to your plan right away, the right of withdrawal ends as soon as you start using the service after this request.

Upgrades and plan changes

Moving to a higher plan, or from monthly to yearly billing, charges the difference immediately so the new plan applies at once. These charges are final in the same way as any other payment.

How to request a review

Write to [email protected] from the email address linked to your account. Include the date and amount of the charge, the last four digits of the card if you know them, and which exception applies. We reply within one business day and finish the review as quickly as the case allows. Approved amounts go back to the original payment method. More about billing is in the FAQ and the terms of service.
